The soft ground that is predicted for Ascot on Saturday should work to the advantage of the long odds on favourite Cue Card. Last time out in the King George he was going too quickly for his own good on ground that was faster than ideal. This effort may have been of the same sort of level as his apparently disappointing run in the Charlie Hall Chase.
