BETWAY MERSEY NOVICES’ HURDLE GRADE 1 – REVIEW

Finian’s Oscar

8th April 2017 – April – He did not travel like the best horse in the race until approaching the final hurdle. He won this like a real top class stayer in the making. This could be very decent form.

Captain Forez

8th April 2017 – April – He made a bad error out the back down the far side and it was slightly surprising to see him run on so strongly in the closing stages.

Messire Des Obeaux

8th April 2017 – April – He travelled as well as any right up until after the second last hurdle. He hit the front travelling supremely well early in the home straight and was just done for toe on this quicker ground. He should stay three miles and will be better suited to competing on a softer surface.

Benatar

8th April 2017 – April – He was very keen near the back though maybe not as keen as he has been in his previous races. He may be slightly flattered by the way he ran past one or two horses that had already run their race.

Brio Conti

8th April 2017 – April – He made a threatening move half way up the home straight but soon levelled out and got left behind by the leaders.

La Bague Au Roi

8th April 2017 – April – She looked to be the first beaten before running on strongly past plenty of horses late on.

Le Breuil

8th April 2017 – April – He was keen near the front and dropped away very early on.

Lough Derg Spirit

8th April 2017 – April – I think we should draw a line through this run as, although he has made the running before, I doubt this was ideal on this step up in trip.
