IRISH DAILY MIRROR NOVICE HURDLE GRADE 1 – REVIEW

Minella Indo

1st May 2019 – Punchestown – He was in second place from early on until taking up the running before the last. He did appear likely to go clear at this point; however the runner up was closing him down a little at the line. The front two horses probably held a significant advantage by racing prominently throughout.

Allaho

1st May 2019 – Punchestown – He led all the way until being joined before the final hurdle. He appeared set to get left well behind by the winner but was actually renewing his challenge close home. Perhaps he did not go fast enough – I am not sure….The front two horses probably held a significant advantage by racing prominently throughout.

Carefully Selected

1st May 2019 – Punchestown – He was out the back throughout and was still ten lengths behind the two leaders with four to jump. This gap had closed to four lengths at the next and he was then right behind the eventual winner two out. He made up a lot of ground very quickly and probably endured by far the worse trip of the first three home. I would prefer to remain open minded as to which of the first three to finish would come out on top on another day.

Commander Of Fleet

1st May 2019 – Punchestown – He was pulled up with a circuit to go and finished lame.

First Approach

1st May 2019 – Punchestown –He was never in the hunt and is flattered by his proximity to the front three horses.

Go Another One

1st May 2019 – Punchestown – He was never in the hunt and is flattered by his proximity to the front three horses.
