PUNCHESTOWN CHAMPION NOVICE CHASE GRADE 1 – REVIEW

Disko

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He won this with plenty to spare and was in a different league to his rivals on the day. The form has plenty of substance as the next two home mirrored their earlier run when finishing one two at Navan in late January. Disko, Coney Island and Our Duke have been closely matched this season and could all be close to the top of the pile next year.

Anibale Fly

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He is a solid marker for this form along with the third horse to finish. He probably ran to his level here.

A Genie In A Bottle

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He is not the quickest chaser in training but looks fairly reliable.

A Toi Phil

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He has been found wanting each time he has been stepped up to compete at this level.

Acapella Bourgeois

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He could be high class but will need testing ground to show it. I do hope he is not over raced on going faster than ideal.

Alpha Des Obeaux

25th April 2017 – Punchestown – He is a horse with plenty of issues. He has BBV more than once in the second half of this season. Conversely, he is very talented at his best and could be worth marking up for something in the early part of the season. If he were mine I would prepare him for the race at Down Royal in early November or something similar.
