Midnight Shadow 1st January 2019 – Cheltenham – When comparing him from the first hurdle to the winning line with Jarveys Plate he was two seconds quicker down the far side up until two out. This ‘lead’ was gradually eroded and he was only just ahead of the novice at the line despite being more vigorously ridden. He was probably the best horse in the race and, at the same time he enjoyed the most positive trip.
