He was about six seconds quicker than Yorkhill from the second fence until the one after the water. He had all of his rivals in trouble at this point and managed to hang on at the line with a little bit to spare over Sub Lieutenant despite being nearly three seconds slower compared with Yorkhill from the third last fence until the post.
