RYANAIR GOLD CUP NOVICE CHASE GRADE 1 – REVIEW

Voix Du Reve

21st April 2019 – Fairyhouse – Perhaps he finally got what he deserved here as he has been let down by his jumping on more than one occasion. I would not be in a hurry to back him to put in another fluent round on the back of this success; however, at least this was a step in the right direction. I would also prefer to remain open minded as to which of these would come out on top on another day as they do seem to be taking turns to win.

Real Steel

21st April 2019 – Fairyhouse – He appeared to be a tad unfortunate not to finish closer at Cheltenham; nonetheless, he finished where he deserved here and there did not appear to be any hard luck stories to take on board.

Winter Escape

21st April 2019 – Fairyhouse – He was kept fresh for this meeting so had more reason than his rivals to perform close to his best. This performance would suggest he is a fair way behind the best novice chasers.

Mengli Khan

21st April 2019 – Fairyhouse – This was his third grade one race in fairly quick succession which may well be a significant reason for this average display.
