SELECT HURDLE GRADE 2 – REVIEW

Younevercall

27th April 2019 – Sandown – He has had a win op since we last saw him and on the evidence of this performance it has made a difference. He certainly finished his race off especially well here and looked stronger at the finish than at any other point of the race. He beat a very disappointing horse in second who, perhaps, has not had the best of preps for this late season target. The third horse ran on past beaten horses and the fourth is very disappointing. On balance the form adds up to little even though the performance was especially pleasing to the eye.

On The Blind Side

27th April 2019 – Sandown – He clearly holds plenty of ability even if he is unlikely to live up to the high expectations his connections appeared to hold for him a year ago. He has not had the easiest of times in the last 18 months and perhaps there is room for some improvement if he can get a clear run through next season.

Thomas Campbell

27th April 2019 – Sandown – He was the first horse beaten and is flattered by his third place finish having stayed on past tiring rivals.

Black Op

27th April 2019 – Sandown – His jumping was better than it has been. He did make one significant error at the final hurdle on the first circuit. Even with a relatively clear round he still managed to look woefully one paced when the favourite kicked on. He looked like a superstar a year ago but seems far from that level now.

Mia’s Storm

27th April 2019 – Sandown – She had her ideal ground but was never a danger at any point.
