SINGLEFARMPAYMENT The Tom George trained Singlefarmpayment lost his unbeaten record at Cheltenham after being brought down in the Timeform Novices’ Handicap Chase in late January. He jumped and travelled well through that contest and was going best when unluckily being brought down at the 12th fence. Any doubts I held about him pre-race would have included the possibility that the two miles and five furlongs trip would be too short for him; consequently, it was particularly encouraging to see how easily he moved through his race until that sixth last fence.
