EBF MARES NOVICE HURDLE FINAL GRADE 1 – REVIEW

Augusta Kate

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She outstayed her stable companion on the run in despite making a mistake at the last hurdle. She had been unlucky not to go close with Death Duty earlier in the season and is clearly a very high class mare. Her trainer intimated that Cheltenham had not suited her last time out.

Let’s Dance

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She was outstayed close home and this may have been right at the ceiling of her stamina limitations. She showed a lot of speed at Cheltenham and could be at her very best when dropped in trip next season. That said she beat Barra by further today compared with last time out.

Barra

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – This makes it two very good runs in a row from this good class mare. At the same time she looks to be a little below the very best mares around in Ireland at least.

Good Thyne Tara

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She was ridden to pick up the pieces, presumably in the hope of gaining some black type. This was only her second start over hurdles and she may well improve again next season.

Colin’s Sister

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She is one of the best mares in Britain but still well behind the standard set by several Irish mares.

Airlie Beach

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She tried to make all again and for the second race in a row she appeared to be well behind the best Irish mares.

Shattered Love

16th April 2017 – Fairyhouse – She has been very disappointing lately and maybe she just needs softer ground to show her best form.
