CHELTENHAM – 1st JANUARY 2019 Midnight Shadow was stepped up in distance to compete over an intermediate trip for the first time last time out at Aintree. He stayed on gamely to hang on in a close finish from the Dan Skelton trained Ch’Tibello on that occasion whilst competing off a mark of 141. I am far from convinced that the Skelton horse truly stays two and a half miles which leaves me holding one or two doubts as to the validity of that form.
